1. For those who don't know who you are, give us a little info about yourself?
Well it all started off at the age of 12 when I use to see my older cousins dj at weddings and parties. They were my role models hence me wanting to become a dj just like them. Around the age of 15 I started attending parties with them and started creating my own mixes. I then joined the sound pipe road show and I am currently the head dj for the roadshow. While djing what I use to love was when a beat would drop and the crowd would just go crazy, that buzz was just incredible. So I decided that I wanted to learn to produce as well as dj. Due to being part of the sound pipe team I was in daily contact with music producers Bee2 and Taj-e and with their help I was able to fulfil my passion for music production which led to my debut album “we are all”. I can honestly say music is not only my passion but it’s my life.

2. Your brand new album "WE ARE ALL" Tell us about it & What we can expect from it?
The album “We are all” has a lot of various styles so that it targets all the audience out there. I wanted to create a album that had something for everyone in it, I’ve tried my best to make sure that the person who buys a copy will not be disappointed with what they have brought. This album features some very special collaborations such as Bee2 collaborating with Miss Pooja and also Sarvjit Kaur collaborating with Mukki G. I also worked with other well known artists such as Meet Malkit, Kuldip Manak and Dharminder. I also have 3 new artists who have featured on this album who go by the names of Nitasha, Horizon and Major. You can expect something new and fresh from this album, tracks with a mixture of UK grime and pure raw desi vocals, tracks with Indian beats fused with hip-hop and funky dance baselines. A lot of consideration and hard work has gone into this album to make this appealing to everyone out there.

3. What tunes should we watch out for?
I honestly think that every track has its own appeal and audience so to pick a tune would not do justice. But the tracks that I feel will appeal to a larger audience has to be the collaboration between Bee2 and Miss pooja which is titled “Majujne”. It’s defiantly a catchy tune with great lyrics and beats. It really gives you that old school traditional feel that I believe we lack in the industry. Apart from that “Killer Looks” by Major is defiantly a killer track and so is “Angel” by Meet Malkit. Both tracks are party tracks so it will keep the clubs rocking.

4. What about Video this time ?
For this album we have shot 2 high budget videos in India and are currently working on another video in the UK. The video’s shot in India were for the tracks “Majujne” and “Killer Looks”. The “Majujne” video is unique in every way and really sets the mood right for the track, It’s a one to watch out for. Whereas with “Killer looks” we went for more of a dark approach. The track itself has 2 versions on the album, one is a club mix which is very grimy and dark, and the other is a hardcore desi which is more targeted at weddings. With this in mind we have tried to create both scenes in this video. Video trailers are currently playing all over the web so check it out.

5. Which Rapper are you rating at the moment?
At this moment, I’m currently feeling a young guy called Horizon who has featured on my album. He’s young, motivated and spitting fire in every bar. I see the same passion for music that he has that I had at his age. For me when it comes to rappers the key is to be able to understand every word that the rapper raps and that is what I found horizon did really well. Every line he raps had a deep meaning and made sense. No nonsense like some rappers! Apart from Horizon I am feeling Kano. He’s got a unique style and is not afraid of trying new things.

6. Album coming on which records Comp. ?
“We are all” will be releasing on the sound pipe records here in the UK and we are currently in talks with other labels for other countries. The reason for me choosing sound pipe was firstly as it was owned and operated by Bee2 who is not only my teacher but also a good friend alongside Taj-e. They offered me a good deal and it was hard to say no. The Sound Pipe are working hard on pushing music beyond boundaries and 2008 will be a big year for them with artists such as myself, Nitasha and horizon realising their debut albums.

7. BEE2 or TAJ-E. ??
Now this is a hard one..I honestly have to say that both these guys are hugely talented. They both have a lot of passion and innovative for their work making their sound unique. I think when it comes to bhangra Bee2 is the key player in the field and when it comes to fusing mainstream beats alongside Indian Taj-e can cause havoc. I’ll let you decide now..

8. If there was one artist from the past or present that you would collaborate with, who would it be?
I think it would have to be Amar Singh Chamkila. He’s a great inspiration and one of the best Punjabi singers till date. The guy was absolutely amazing, he was not only a good singer but also a great lyricist and a great musician who in today’s date is hard to find. He was old school and gave Punjabi music a new meaning.

9. Is there anything else we should look out from you in the near future?
There are other projects in the pipeline and I am currently working with other known established artists which will later be revealed. Currently my main focus is to get my name out there and for people to feel my sound. I want people to appreciate my hard work and support young artists like myself so I can carry on working hard on what I enjoy the most which is making music. This is my debut album and I hope there will be more to come with the help of people out there who enjoy music.

10. Finally, do you have a message for all the readers of www.kdsdj.Com?
My message is to keep it real, support young artists who are trying hard to make it in this industry. I feel the main way a young artist can be supported is by buying their cd and not downloading. Watch out for exclusive promos and videos coming soon. Keep it locked on www.thesoundpipe.com | www.djphoenixx.com. Peace
