• Introducing S-Klass

Sandeep Singh Soomal, or better known by his stage name as S Klass is a UK Born vocalist, stemming from a long serving musical background. Hailing from a town rarely associated with a large Punjabi community; Scunthorpe, S-Klass is set to launch his debut single ‘Dil Di’ in February 2010 via a free MP3 download.

S Klass began his passage to singing aged 7, as an outstanding student of Ustaad Amarjit Jogi, under whom he learnt classical tabla at his local Gurdwara (Sikh Temple). Under strict guidance and in a spiritual surrounding, S Klass underwent extensive musical tutelage. S Klass has been working hard ever since, extending his musical knowledge before taking the big leap into singing.

Citing his singing influences as the vocally exquisite Sabar Koti & Hans Raj Hans, music was always a first passion for S Klass, appealing to him at an early age, as did the work of the Music Man Sukshinder Shinda, who S Klass sees as his ultimate idol. As a relative newcomer to singing, S Klass took up the guidance and teaching of Ustaad Kuldeep Singh, who looked to harness and refine S Klass’s natural singing ability.

This continued training shows the commitment S Klass has not only to developing his career as a successful vocalist, but also to expand his knowledge of music, which will be demonstrated in his forthcoming single ‘Dil Di’.

S Klass explains the importance of continued learning;

“Without learning and guidance one cannot improve, it is important and vital to have knowledge about exactly what you are doing, especially when you want to become a singer. I find it inspiring that the top singers in the world still learn every day and work hard to improve themselves. This is just the start of my own career, but I hope you will be able to see a notable difference and improvement in my vocal ability through my learning”

Best describing himself as a modern singer, S Klass is keen not to lose the traditional value his musical upbringing taught him. The more traditional side of S Klass will be shown in future singles, where he work alongside established producers such as Gupsy Aujla & Jeeti, both who known for their eclectic folk sounds.

S Klass is set to release his debut single ‘Dil Di’ in February 2010. The single has been produced by the talented Pal D and was written by Jaswant Para Lalliyan.

S Klass explains his vision for the single;

“When me and Pal (D) first sat down to compose ‘Dil Di’ our ambition was to create something out of the ordinary to what is currently coming out at the moment. I wanted to bring out a debut single that will hopefully set me apart from the rest. I think ‘Dil Di’ does that, and when you hear the song, it’s not a full on ballad, it still retains a fresh and funky sound which was important for me. With Valentine’s day around the corner, the single will be releasing at the perfect time”

The single will be available as a FREE download in February 2010
